Double Take
When I first heard "Made" by Ricardo Tobar I had to do a double take. Was this M83 in disguise? I even thought it maybe the work of the ex-member of said duo. However after further detective work I discovered that Ricardo is/was not linked to M83 even though their influence is undeniable in this EP from Border Community.
Despite the similarities I was instantly hooked, It's layers of white noise sonics induced feelings of pleasure that I hadn't experienced since listening to those other purveyors of layered feedback, My Bloody Valentine.
Ricardo Tobar - Made // Border Community buy this at Beatport and Juno
M83 - Run Into Flowers (KG Mix) // Gooom
M83 - Run Into Flowers (Jackson's Midnight Fuck Remix) // Gooom
Just to compare and contrast here are the two best mixes of "Run Into Flowers". Jackson's remix made his name and his Jackson & His Computer Band album "Smash" was subsequently released on Warp Records.
